Hi everyone,
It has been a while since I have updated, it has been a crazy few weeks with post graduation stress of looking for work and all of that nonsense. I finally have some time and the mood to sit down right now to give you this wonderful classic favourite treat for all ages - Chocolate Chip Cookies!!
It took me 3 batches of cookies before it came out the way that I am happy with. I am inclined to blame the oven because since it's heating panel is on the bottom, it burned all of my cookies on the bottom and undercooked the top part of it. I am no clue if it is the recipe or some other factor to it. But after 3 tries and 2 different recipes, it came out just the way I like it. Although I wish it wasn't so spread out. But I can't complain, it still taste fantastic, it has a nice crisp skin with a soft and chewy bite to it.
I should be ashamed for failing at chocolate chip cookies, but let me tell you, chocolate chip cookies may be a simple recipe, but things do go wrong at times. For this recipe, I had to double layer my cookies sheet to prevent the bottom of the cookie from burning. I had to test bake a few batches with different cookie sheets just to see the difference, and lastly, I had to adjust the oven temperature and the location that the cookie will be baked ( bottom/middle/top section of the oven). It came out great eventually and now I know how to bake chocolate chip cookies in my pathetic oven with a only bottom heating panel * I hope to be moving out to a place where the oven will be much better, preferably a fan forced oven * =)
